VENUS begins its transit through the sympathetic, emotional sign of Pisces today, January 26th, at 9:33 PM EST ... Venus is now in a "relationship" with Neptune, the natural ruling planet of Pisces, so there is the potential for love to be produced from some highly spiritual as well as karmic energy in ones life ... Venus was last in Pisces from April 5th through May 2nd, 2022 !!!

Venus in Pisces is all about dreams and wishes, fairy tale endings, love at first sight, and happily ever after - well maybe !!! ... Jupiter originally entered Aries back on May 10th, 2022, but due to retrograde motion it returned for one last sweep in 2022 - to address last minute business until it returns in 12 years - through the sign of Pisces from October 28th through December 20th at which point it reentered Aries for the complete transit ... to reiterate, the opportunity for growth and expansion through new beginnings is now limitless ... Jupiter was last in Aries from June 6th, 2010 through June 4th, 2011 !!!

I forgot to post this blog in the chaos of the Holiday season with a Mars retrograde in progress and an impending Mercury retrograde ... so here is a reminder of what this energy is all about and how it may affect you and others :

ZZZZZZZAP !!!! ... and just like that, there was definitely something electric in the air as the planet URANUS completed its retrograde journey for 2022, which began back on August 24th, 2022 and stationed back into direct motion on Sunday, January 22nd, at 5:52 PM EST at 14 degrees 56 minutes Taurus - definitely an unconventional potential "wake-up" call bestowed upon us by the Universe as we barely have recently entered a New Year and as we've just had both Mercury and Mars station back into direct motion within the last 12 days - time to bust a move somewhere !!!

URANUS DOES NOT PLAY AROUND !!! ... it is the planet representing sudden and unexpected change ... it is a shocker ... it gives flashes of insight, rebelliousness and originality ... it represents eccentricity, genius, inventiveness, revolution, intuition and the sixth sense, and everything that happens out of the blue!!! ... Uranus questions and challenges authority, and transcends business-as-usual social and cultural ideas to come to new solutions ... it absolutely insists on freedom but there is also an understanding here that freedom must be learned one step at a time!!! ... it rules electricity, technology, computers, and all things on the cutting edge ... most importantly - at least to me !!! - it is the planet that rules Astrology !!!

While Uranus was in retrograde motion, it was time for all of us to ask what changes are occurring in the world and how we are contributing to or working against these changes - the ability to see the importance between your own personal changes and the ones occurring globally, and the connection between the two, should have become a strong focal point !!!

Uranus has literally been slowing down to shift direction and hovering at 10 degrees of Taurus since around January 11th, so it may have felt like there was an edginess and restlessness on some level of our lives especially with Mars stationing direct on January 12th !!! ... since approximately January 18th, it was, from an astrological viewpoint, literally vibrating at a near stand still sending out its potentially disruptive and erratic "electrically charged" energy which may have proved to be a very sensitive point in whatever area of life is ruled by where this degree is in your natal chart !!!

After Uranus stations direct, many may experience some kind of sudden and unexpected occurrence, particularly in regards to any of the previously above mentioned traits, happening to or around them or even perhaps in regards to the area of life ruled by whichever house in your natal chart this change in direction has occurred !!! ... has anything happened perhaps within the last week that was sudden and unexpected in some area of your life or the lives of others you know ??? ... or has anyone felt more edgy and restless without really knowing why ???

There could be a lot of us who experienced elevated tension during this period ... in some cases there was most likely a sudden and unexpected change made out of the blue - or even a confrontational situation arose we were not expecting ... and until the direct motion energy completely settles in, there could be many sudden and unexpected instances of rebellion, disruption, explosions - of many varieties, and confrontations !!!

This 151 day Uranus retrograde occurred from 18 degrees 55 minutes Taurus back down to 14 degrees 56 minutes Taurus ... if you've had a natal chart run, then you might get a good clue as to where this Uranus retrograde may have impacted your life especially the day that jolt of energy began moving outward and forward once again !!! ... now that Uranus is direct we can expect the potential for many changes - it's time to start putting those changes in motion in a positive and not confrontational, rebellious or negative manner !!!

As Uranus is currently in the middle stages of transiting through the sign of Taurus - where the lesson of this energy is all about "awakening" through learning to stabilize - the Universe has been giving not only Taurus born - who may have especially felt the impact of this retrograde - but everyone a glimpse of things to come and where CHANGE WILL NEED TO BE AND MUST BE ADDRESSED and WILL ULTIMATELY TAKE PLACE while Uranus transits Taurus ... Uranus is considered to be in its "fall" in Taurus as it opposite to the sign it is exalted in which is Scorpio ... in "fall", a planet can have difficulty in expressing its real nature ... it is said that in "fall", it's like the planet is visiting in someone else's house where it does not really feel comfortable ... so does this make its often disruptive, rebellious nature even more challenging or modify it somewhat ??? ... each individual will discover that on their own during this transit !!!

With Uranus in Taurus, once someone decides they want something they usually will stick to their commitment ... there are often extremely strong feelings about money either good or challenging ... it can produce financial ups and downs quite suddenly and unexpectedly ... often one will move towards more concrete, innovative ways of making money ... there is extreme determination and purpose, but carried to extremes it can greatly interfere and slow down ones progress ... it is said that materialistic attachments could limit ones freedom of expression and have a stifling effect on spiritualistic impulses ... and certainly it practically goes without saying, but I will, that knowing the house placement(s) where this transit will occur in your natal chart will be very important to understand where in your life this energy may strongly manifest in your life !!!

Uranus in Taurus has the potential to be very strong and can bestow willpower and determination ... Uranus was last in Taurus from 1934/1935 through 1942 ... this was the period of the worst of the Great Depression as well as the trigger for World War II !!!

Uranus takes roughly 7 years to completely transit through each sign of the zodiac ... it entered the sign of Taurus on May 15th, 2018 ... Uranus will not complete its transit through the sign of Taurus until April 25th/26th, 2026 depending on which time zone in which you live !!!

Aquarius born individuals, you may especially feel the forward jolt or thrust of this powerful energy as your period of "hibernation" is over and it's time to move forward once again as well as having the Sun currently in transit through your birth sign ... what have you been thinking about in your life since August 24th of 2022 that needed some kind of change - major or minor ??? ... what unique things did you discover about yourself, and where have you felt a need to break free from something or someone in order to express your individuality ???

Uranus remains in direct motion until August 29th ... this forward motion will take Uranus from 14 degrees 56 minutes Taurus up to 23 degrees 4 minutes Taurus ... so now we all have this energy - to be different, to be independent, to be rebellious, to have our own freedom and to do things suddenly and unexpectedly - turned outward - LOOK OUT !!!

We are now being "charged up" to boldly and assertively move forward into this New Year to progressively bring about change and independence somewhere in our lives and within the collective in order to promote further personal and spiritual growth - "SHOCKING" ISN'T IT ???

MERCURY completed its fourth and final retrograde journey for 2022 on Wednesday, January 18th, and stationed  back into direct motion at 8:12 AM EST - once again, do I hear a BIG SIGH OF RELIEF out there especially as Mars also completed its retrograde journey on January 12th ??? ... what revelations have you had or will have, either positive or challenging in regards to what you may have done while Mercury has been "scrubbing" over these degrees - 24 degrees 21 minutes Capricorn back to 8 degrees 8 minutes Capricorn - forwards, then backwards and now forward again as it crosses back over them ... in which house or houses do these degrees fall in your natal chart giving you a clue as to what area of your life this retrograde may have affected you ???

Hopefully, some of the disorientation, confusion, frustration and outright irritation along with the sudden and unexpected issues that may have been produced by this Mercury retrograde will now begin to clear and subside as it becomes time to move forward cautiously into the swing of things on all levels especially with Mars having resumed direct motion as well ...  this is a lot of energy and incentive encouraging us to get "unstuck" and move forward on some level of our lives ... in fact we might all could finally say "HAPPY NEW YEAR 2023" !!!

Did any issues and complications or questioning arise in regards to things done during the last retrograde period from September 10th through October 2nd, 2022 ??? ... or maybe as far back as May 10th through June 3rd, 2022 ... or even January 14th through February 2nd, 2022 ??? ... and it's a sure bet that as Mercury moves forward once again crossing back over the degrees it covered during this retrograde period, issues may begin to arise meaning things begun and actions taken are certainly subject to potential review and revision - a never ending universal process but all for a good reason !!!




Mercury retrograde periods, even though annoying and extremely frustrating at times, are actually a very beneficial thing, especially for those who were strong and fearless enough to dig deep down, as we need to validate, or in some cases invalidate, actions and situations gone awry and deal with them in order to finally release them to produce a calmer, positive and more productive state of mind thus allowing us to move forward to bring about greater personal and spiritual growth !!! ... again, if you've had a natal chart done, you should look to see in which house or houses containing 24 DEGREES 21 MINUTES BACK TO 8 DEGREES 8 MINUTES CAPRICORN fall to determine what issues you may have had to deal with in the areas of life governed by those houses ??? ... how many of you went with the flow and how many of you tried to swim upstream in the raging current of Cosmic confusion ???



Of course the recurring question we may find ourselves asking now that Mercury is back in direct motion is "WHY" ??????? ...What actions did you take yourself or have taken against you that you or the other person may now be regretting ... or you may be simply wondering why you chose to do what you did or why you were the victim of a particular course of action from other(s), and why didn't you or the other person wait a little longer ...  or perhaps you are simply now trying to figure out why it even happened ???

Relationships may have come to an end - some needed to and others may have jumped the gun and you are now wondering, or will be, why did I do that or end things during this period ...  how many of you had relationship issues surface or resurface, extremely likely in a Mercury retrograde, that you thought surely had been resolved or didn't even realize existed ???  ... how many of you began new actions within a relationship, personal or professional without waiting for the retrograde period to conclude ??? ... AND ... how many of you got married ??? 




Did anyone make any major purchases - homes, cars, electronics - that now don't seem like the best thought out course of action or that you are beginning to regret or will do so in the days ahead ??? ... there could be problems regarding any purchases made especially with anything where electrical energy and/or computers were involved ... all of these scenarios are possible as the energy of a Mercury retrograde is one where communications and mental energy is going "backwards" and rational decision making isn't always so sharp !!!




So now that the mental processing facilities are no longer going backwards - at least for most of us if you know what I mean - in regard to Mercury and its functions, it's time to finally RELEASE these emotional holds and allow ourselves to move forward with our lives ... let go of what is best left in the past so you can achieve greater personal and spiritual growth !!!

Mercury retrograde in Capricorn was retrograde in an earth sign ... these retrogrades are mainly focused on practical matters ... Saturn was the planetary ruler of this Mercury retrograde ... the areas potentially affected with Saturn ruling the retrograde were : form, discipline, responsibility, organization, ambition, limitations and delays ... Saturn governs theories and scientific laws, older persons, depth, patience, timing, tradition, conventionality, productive use of time ... Saturn represents the principles of truth, the solidification of wisdom and of aging ... its action is slow and lasting !!! 

Certainly this retrograde had the potential to affect ones career and/or public image as Saturn rules Capricorn which the natural sign on the 10th house cusp ... there may have been some very deep and weighty thinking and rethinking done here ... along with profession, reputation and standing in the community, other areas where issues might have arisen that needed reviewing and rethinking may have included the following : ego, status, fame (or lack of it), promotion, ambition, business or social activities, ones employer, the government or any other authority over one, personal achievements, the way the world sees and evaluates one, the influence one exerts in their own circle, and the parent who is considered the authoritarian if both parents are still here, or the parent who remains should there only be one !!!

In regards to overall health, remember Mercury is the natural planetary ruler of the 6th house which rules health, so there could have been more chances to have health issues in general during a Mercury retrograde ... in Capricorn, again ruled by Saturn, there could also have been more potential to have health issues with the bones, joints, knees, the skin, the skeletal system including the teeth, left ear and the auditory organs !!!

Gemini and Virgo born, yet another period of review and reflection for you has come to an end

especially in regards to actions taken since October 2nd when Mercury last stationed back into direct motion ... how have you been enlightened and how was your life affected by having your ruling planet Mercury retrograde ... your ruling planet now resumes forward motion and much to your delight so will you - even though you were probably trying to do it during the actual retrograde ... right, of course right - in fact many of us were doing the same thing !!!

Those of you born between December 30th and January 17th definitely got Mercury retrograde energy in their birthday (solar return) chart for the whole year ahead ... those born on December 29th and January 18th may or may not have gotten this backward energy depending on the time of your solar return ... The significance of having Mercury retrograde in your yearly birthday chart or, as we refer to it in Astrology, a Solar Return, is summed up below by Mary Fortier Shea in her book titled "Planets in Solar Return" :



"A Solar Return is the time every year that the Sun returns to the same degrees and minutes it was at when you were born - all the more reason to know your birth time now isn't it, hmmmmm????? ... a new chart is run for you at the time your solar return occurs in that given year and it is run for wherever you are at the precise time of your solar return ... this produces a new horoscope chart which shows what energy you may or may not run into for the year ahead - that is from the current birthday until next years birthday ... its energy can be felt from one to three months out before the actual solar return occurs .... often people will relocate for the return time in order to get a particular energy in their solar return chart !!!

MARS, the planet representing the urge to get what you want, sexual drive, initiative, courage, raw energy and desires, completed its RETROGRADE journey for 2022 today, January 12th, at 3:56 PM EST ... the purpose of a Mars retrograde ultimately is to evaluate what it is that motivates you and for you to determine if you are on the correct path to achieve your goal, and if you are doing what you should be doing to get there ... inside a Mars retrograde, it was time for all of us to adjust our actions and aggressive instincts to ensure that ones intent is accomplished effectively ... this often includes going back over previous actions and having to redo them or let them go in order to move forward ... also, old resentments and personal issues that had not been resolved in the past may have had the tendency of resurfacing during this period which yielded the awareness that the time had come to develop new strategies and approaches for dealing with issues, anger and learning assertiveness ... Mars takes a retrograde journey for about 9 - 10 weeks out of its 26 month cycle !!!




Mars retrograde could have brought issues of frustration or hostility to the surface we have deliberately suppressed due to their disruptive qualities which can cause forward movement in our lives to be temporarily delayed ... sudden reversals of interest and drive may have occurred, as well as the termination of a long term goal as it may have become apparent that the effort was inappropriate for the long term ... also old wounds, hurts and frustrations may have arisen seemingly out of context but usually there was a purpose for this ... during a Mars retrograde it is usually a good idea NOT to undertake any new beginnings per contract or verbally since the energy often isn't there to carry it through ... now sometimes you couldn't just "sit tight" for nearly two and a half months, but there are good reasons, if at all possible, as the waiting may ultimately prove to be a blessing in the long run ... often things begun under a Mars retrograde will begin to run into problems when it stations back into direct motion today, at some point during the next two years, or even when Mars takes its next retrograde journey in December, 2024 !!!




This Mars retrograde was completely in the sign of Gemini going from 25 degrees 36 minutes Gemini back to 8 degrees 7 minutes Gemini - the sign Mercury naturally rules !!! ... if you have had a natal chart done, you can look to where these degrees fall by house and/or houses in order to see if  you had to rethink some kind of action you may have taken or where you might have encountered delays and frustrations and had to shift into a different direction in whatever area of life the house or houses rule where these degrees fell ... if you were born with your natal Sun between 25 degrees 36 minutes Aries and 8 degrees 7 minutes Gemini, at some point Mars crossed back over your natal Sun and, among other things, there could have been a few days when you felt as if someone really unplugged your energy outlet - many of us may have had that feeling off and on during the entire Mars retrograde cycle and especially when Mercury joined the retrograde party beginning back on December 29th !!!




If you have any natal planets in the signs of Aries within these degrees you probably experienced some kind of energy produced in relation to the planet and the area of life in which house it is placed when Mars backed over that planet ... also Mars may have produced some action if it made an aspect to other planets in your natal chart regardless of sign but still within the same range of degrees ... Many would agree this Mars retrograde, with a Mercury retrograde completely embedded in it became especially challenging and frustrating - and Mercury isn't finished yet !!!

Since Mars was last retrograde from September 9th through November 14th, 2020, what actions were possibly begun then that now had to be readdressed, readjusted, reworked, or simply had run their course, ran out of "steam" and come to a necessary ending needing to be released, or concluded but not by our choice, in order to promote further personal and spiritual growth ??? ... and undoubtedly you may be readdressing some of these issues, including the issues encountered from September 9th of 2022 up until the retrograde period began on October 30th as Mars now moves forward over those degrees up until it exits its retrograde zone on March 15th !!! ... this Mars retrograde was most likely again to be an extremely challenging one as it occurred completely in the sign of Gemini, therefore associated with Mercury and we all know what a Mercury retrograde has the potential to produce on its own ... important to note that Mars has been in the sign of Gemini since August 20th as normally a Mars transit through a sign is usually about 6 weeks ... this Mars transit through Gemini will not be complete until March 25th, 2023 !!!

Mars retrograde energy had the potential to produce some unwanted action if it aspected other planets in your natal chart regardless of sign but still within the same range of degrees ... as with Mercury retrograde periods, sometimes those born with Mars retrograde will find this period more productive since they are already comfortable and have a better understanding of this backwards energy ... in a natal chart, those born with Mars retrograde are said to have actions in the current life that are recreations of the past to deal with, they probably abused the principles of aggression and personal initiative, and they are frequently in competition with themselves !!!

Mars is the ruling planet of Aries which is the natural ruling sign on the 1st house, or Ascendant, which is considered a house of Life ... its keyword is identity ... the 1st house represents your personality, your natural disposition and tendencies, your individuality and the way you express yourself, how people see you and the way you want others to see you, the way you "package" and "market" yourself, your reputation, your physical body, your health, early childhood years, your approach to life, your worldly outlook, your appearance and the beginnings of all enterprises you undertake ... so there was the potential for issues to arise in these areas especially if some of the actions were taken during the last Mars retrograde or during the current Mars retrograde !!!




Mars represents your animal nature, desires, sexual energies, assertiveness, force, power, construction, work, strife, competition, surgery and operations, weapons, war, accidents, inflammations, wounds, cuts, burns, scalds, violence, tools, iron and steel, actions that are sudden, self-assertive and disruptive actions, and energy that can be used destructively and angrily or with courage and strength ... all of these areas were vulnerable to issues during the entire retrograde period as it is Mars which is in retrograde !!! ... In regards to health, the areas especially subject to issues during the entire retrograde are the head and face !!!

Mercury, which rules Gemini, is the natural ruler of the 3rd house which concerns side-by-side relationships and awareness ... the 3rd house shows your local environment in which you live, your brothers and sisters and all forms of communication - speaking, writing, and singing ... it indicates all means of transportation including short trips ... it shows the adaptability of your mind to learning and to new ideas, your ability to relate to your environment, and your taken for granted skills ... it represents the conscious and objective portion of your mind as well as your primary schooling ... all of these areas were subject to potential issues during this Mars retrograde !!! 

Mercury also rules the 6th house, via ruling Virgo, and is the house of substance and duty ... it governs your daily work and service, our health and nutrition and your habits ... it shows employment, employees, tenants, servants, pets and dependents ... it describes service given to others, routine matters your clothes and how you wear them, hygiene, interest in food and diet, sickness  and all conditions affecting your health ... the 6th house represents aunts and uncles, self-adjustment and your subconscious mind ... it is said that here work and health are linked together ... so potential could have arisen with issues with any of the aforementioned areas !!!

Mercury, as previously mentioned on numerous occasions, rules Gemini and Virgo ... it rules reasoning, the mental and cerebral capacity, ability to communicate, intellect, awareness, dexterity, rationalization, transmission, words, opinion and sensory perceptions ... its action is quick, uncertain, volatile under normal circumstances ... it deals with travels especially short trips, brothers and sisters, children, clerking, speaking, writing, bookkeeping, secretaries, neighborhood activities, letters and mailings, means of transportation, trade and techniques ... all areas that were subject to potential issues during this retrograde period ... This Mars retrograde period could have ended up being even more intense and challenging once Mercury began its 4th and final retrograde period for 2022 on December 29th which lasts until January 18th, 2023, and therefore was completely embedded within the final 15 days of this Mars retrograde ... so did that just double the challenges and complicate matters even more ... what a way to start off a New Year !!!

ARIES born - this was your period to slow down and in some cases stop - WHICH YOU DO NOT LIKE TO DO AT ALL !!! - in order to review and rethink what had been going on in your life especially in regards to what may have transpired in your life since November 14th, 2020 when Mars, being your ruling planet, last stationed back into direct motion !!!
