Venus began its transit through the enthusiastic, broad-minded sign of Sagittarius Monday, January 7th at 6:19 AM EST ... this Venus is all about the adventure and excitement that love can bring, and therefore ends up being a love that doesn't always last ... but friendships have longevity and they are usually numerous ... OK, so this happens to be my birth sign, BUT ... once again, WHO'S doing the blogging here - un-huh ??? ... I believe that allows me to embellish ever so slightly and I think my fellow Cappies would most heartily agree even though we can often be quite reserved !!! ... Old man winter has come to call, however for those in the Southern hemisphere Summer has begun and the heat is on ... the light-hearted, fun loving fiery energy of Sagittarius is now replaced with the slower earth bound energy dedicated to manifesting ones ambition into reality !!! ... we now turn our attention to focus on practical matters - like getting all those gifts wrapped and delivered - and attempt to go into the New Year with a firm resolution ready to be productive and successful !!!

Mercury got no further than 13 degrees 29 minutes Sagittarius when its stationed retrograde going back to 27 degrees 16 minutes Scorpio !!!



Mercury was last in Sagittarius from November 15th, 2017 through January 10/11th, 2018 ... a  longer than normal transit due to its final retrograde journey for 2016 and that will be the same situation this year !!!



Mercury in Sagittarius is in a sign opposite to one of the signs it naturally rules - that being Gemini - and is therefore said to be in "detriment" ... it is considered less "visible", appearing to not operate at its usual full power, but not less effective though ... it is visiting a sign where it must conform to rules and regulations that it wouldn't normally have to do in certain other signs !!!

MERCURY completed its third and final retrograde journey for 2018 on Thursday, December 6th, and stationed  back into direct motion at 4:22 PM EST - do I hear a BIG SIGH OF RELIEF out there ??? ... of course I do especially as the height of the Holiday season is upon us and now that we are getting readjusted to things, well most things that is, and moving forward once again with no personal planet in retrograde motion !!!




Hopefully, some of the disorientation, confusion, frustration and outright irritation along with the sudden and unexpected issues that may have been produced by this Mercury retrograde will now begin to clear and subside as it becomes time to move forward into the swing of things on all levels !!!

Over the next few days to the next few weeks or even months, there will undoubtedly be quite a few "a-ha" as well as "uh-oh" lights coming on in regard to decisions made or actions taken during the retrograde period from November 16th through December 6th, and possibly as far back as October 28th when Mercury entered its shadow point - the point where it would come out of this retrograde journey which was at 27 DEGREES 16 MINUTES SCORPIO  ... did issues and complications or questioning arise in regards to things done during the last retrograde period from July 25th/26th through August 18th/19th which was partially embedded in the Mars retrograde this year occurring from June 26th through August 27th ??? ... or maybe as far back as March 22nd through April 15th  ??? ... and it's a sure bet that as Mercury moves forward once again crossing back over the degrees it covered during this retrograde period issues may begin to arise already meaning things begun and actions taken are certainly subject to potential review and revision !!!




Mercury retrograde periods, even though annoying and extremely frustrating at times, are actually a very beneficial thing, especially for those who were strong and fearless enough to dig deep down, as we need to validate, or in some cases invalidate, actions and situations gone awry and deal with them in order to finally release them to produce a calmer, positive and more productive state of mind thus allowing us to move forward to bring about greater personal and spiritual growth !!! ... if you've had a natal chart done, you should look to see in which house or houses 13 DEGREES 29 MINUTES SAGITTARIUS  back to 27 DEGREES 16 MINUTES SCORPIO falls - what kinds of issues did you have to  deal with in the areas of life governed by those houses ??? ... how many of you went with the flow and how many of you tried to swim upstream in the raging current of Cosmic confusion ???

Of course the recurring question we may find ourselves asking now that Mercury is back in direct motion is "WHY" ??????? ...What actions did you take yourself or have taken against you that you or the other person may now be regretting ... or you may be simply wondering why you chose to do what you did or why you were the victim of a particular course of action from other(s), and why didn't you or the other person wait a little longer ...  or perhaps you are simply now trying to figure out why it even happened ???




Relationships may have come to an end - some needed to and others may have jumped the gun and you are now wondering, or will be, why did I do that or end things during this period ...  how many of you had relationship issues surface or resurface - extremely likely in a Mercury retrograde - that you thought surely had been resolved or didn't even realize existed ???  ... how many of you began new actions within a relationship, personal or professional without waiting for the retrograde period to conclude ??? ... AND ... how many of you got married - OOPSIE  ???




Did anyone make any major purchases - homes, cars, electronics - that now don't seem like the best thought out course of action or that you are beginning to regret or will do so in the days ahead ??? ... there could be problems regarding any purchases made especially with anything where electrical energy and/or computers were involved ... oh yes, and now are there any of you who are already regretting some of the Holiday shopping they've already done or had issues with any of the items ??? ...all of these scenarios are possible as the energy of a Mercury retrograde is one where communications and mental energy is going "backwards" and rational decision making isn't always so sharp !!!




So now that the mental processing facilities are no longer going backwards - at least for most of us - in regard to Mercury and its functions, it's time to finally RELEASE these emotional holds and allow ourselves to move forward with our lives ... let go of what is best left in the past so you can achieve greater personal and spiritual growth !!!




Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius was in a sign ruled by Jupiter which is also the planet that is the natural ruler of the 9th house ... areas where issues may have arisen include: the law, religion, science, ideals, higher learning, philosophy, psychological issues, mental studies, our dreams and visions, long distance travel, foreigners, foreign dealings, commerce, big business, imports and exports, spirituality and the church, the clergy, in-laws, grandchildren, intuition, ethics, and lessons we learn through living as sometimes we just have a difficult time being able to perceive the bigger picture ... all areas ruled by the 9th house !!!

On December 1st, Mercury returned to the sign of Scorpio ... in Scorpio, Mercury retrograde challenged us to find the courage and honesty to go deep within ourselves, facing our own inner demons, in order to bring about transformation and change in our lives in order to promote further personal and spiritual growth !!!

Mercury retrograding in the sign of Scorpio could have brought focus to the areas of life ruled by Pluto, the ruling planet of Scorpio, and 8th house matters - the house that Scorpio naturally rules ... so issues could have arisen regarding things which are hidden - especially in the unconscious self, the masses, crime, phobias and obsessions, slow growth, birth and death, isolation, coercion, kidnapping, bacteria and viruses, generation/regeneration/degeneration, secrets and things kept undercover, plumbing, dictatorships and unpopular causes - all of these things ruled by Pluto !!!

There could also have been issues regarding support one receives from other people - including financial, moral, spiritual and physical, legacies, trusts, wills, taxes, insurance matters, sex, spiritual/physical regeneration, psychological rebirth, degeneration and death - both literal and figurative, occult matters, sleep, deep research, investigations, hidden assets, assets of partners alimony, and surgeries - all of these matters represented by the 8th house !!!

In regards to overall health, remember Mercury is the natural planetary ruler of the 6th house which rules health and nutrition, among other things, so there could have been more potential to have health issues in general during this Mercury retrograde  ... while in Sagittarius, there could have been more potential to have health issues with the liver, hips and thighs ...  while in Scorpio, there could have been issues with the elimination and reproductive systems which are areas ruled by Pluto, and the genitalia which are the anatomical areas Scorpio rules !!!

Gemini and Virgo born since Mercury is your natural ruling planet, did you "try" and slow down for personal review and rethinking - especially in regards as to what has transpired in your lives since Mercury last resumed direct motion back on August 18th/19th ??? ... what have you learned about yourself in regards to where you are going and whether or not you are proceeding wisely in order to become more successful ??? ... what did you discover that MUST be changed - in fact what did anyone discover that MUST be changed so you are not left stagnant and hanging in limbo ???

Mercury remains in direct motion until March 5th, 2019 when it begins its first retrograde journey for 2019 occurring completely in the sign of Pisces !!!

Mercury stationing back into direct motion brings to conclusion the Personal Planet - Mercury, Venus, Mars - retrograde flip flop sequence for 2018 which technically began back on March 8th - nearly the whole year !!! ... but don't move too far too fast just yet rather move forward with some caution as both Mercury and Venus are now moving forward to exit their respective retrograde zones ... Venus on December 17th and Mercury one week later on December 24th ... perhaps Santa's journey will run smoothly - HO HO HO ... OFF WE GO !!!

Neptune has been retrograde since June 18th of this year, and therefore requiring all of us to go inward and seek to attempt to tune into the collective unconscious and try to understand how our fears, illusions, confusion, or personal spiritual journey are connected into the energy of what is happening with humanity ... This retrograde journey of Neptune occurred from 16 degrees 30 minutes Pisces back down to 13 degrees 42 minutes  Pisces ... if you've had a natal chart done, you might find this was a sensitive point in your chart in regards to Neptune and its retrograde ... and especially sensitive is wherever 13 degrees 42 minutes Pisces falls as Neptune stationed at that degree and takes a few days to exit that degree ... many may have felt confused, foggy, listless or even completely drained of energy while Neptune was stationed at 13 degrees 42 minutes Pisces beginning around 11/19 !!!



Hopefully we have been able to determine whether or not we have been applying our own personal energies in a positive manner in order to develop faith and spirituality ... it is possible that many of us have discovered that we have been aimlessly following a path of escapism and disappointment ... it has been a time to develop a rational objectivity concerning the intangible aspects of life which would include truth, fear, hope and inspiration ... many artists, musicians, poets and those who lead highly spiritual lives may have been able to tap into their higher selves and find inspiration to further their abilities !!!



We all should have been paying extra special attention to our dreams, even though we should always be doing this, as they are sure to have brought us important messages from our unconscious state ... unfortunately there are those who may have been driven into drugs and alcohol as a way to "escape" what is perceived as the pain and suffering of daily life ... people born with Neptune retrograde in their natal chart are usually those who at some point in their lives find the need to question and test all aspects of faith and beliefs ... and they can also sometimes be those who "suffer in silence" ...
